Nakuru County’s 1.6 million person population make it the 4th largest metropolitan area in Kenya.

Nakuru lies at the heart of Kenya, a country bordered by Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda and Tanzania. Kenya is home to over 44 million people. The average income in the country is less than $5 USD per day, compared to the U.S. average that is twenty times as much.

In Nakuru, over 71% of the population is under the age of 30, which represents tremendous potential for the future of the city and the nation. In order to achieve that potential, social, economic and church efforts need to keep pace with or outpace population growth. The population of Nakuru has been growing at a steady 7.5% annual rate and is expected to top 3 million people in the next 5 years. The “Non-Kenyan” population is estimated at 30,000-50,000 people.
